  • Wine

    • Chardonnay, Neyers, Carneros, Ca, 2012

The finished wine has a rich, almost creamy texture, with a laxly aroma of grilled bread and tropical fruit. The 2012 harvest had the advantages of being very good for quality and for quantity. There harvest season was mum and dry, on the heels of a mild summer, and several growers reported a record crop. The Carneros District chardonnay comes from three vineyards planted to "Shot Wente" selection. All are in the cool weather area of Carneros, near the San Francisco bay. 'Shot Wente' is an heirloom chardonnay selection with grapes that are smaller than normal, giving them increased skin surface relative to the juice. That ratio makes the wine especially flavorful
